Carbon Disulphide

RBL has been involved in Carbon Disulphide since producing accelerators for the rubber market in the 1930's. Today, CS₂ is used as a versatile reagent for the manufacture of thiazoles, xanthates, thiocarbamates and thiuram disulphides for use in such diverse applications as pharmaceutical, veterinary, photographic, effluent treatment and rubber chemical.

For fine chemicals production carbon disulphide chemistries are carried out in our 4500litre dedicated vessel, operating on a flexible scale from kilos to multi-tonnes. Whilst the carbon disulphide is available from bulk tank supplies, our largest dedicated carbon disulphide systems consists of 18,000litre vessels. All reactions are handled under the highest environmental control using dedicated feedlines and scrubber systems.

RBL is able to offer both custom and toll manufacturing using carbon disulphide across a full range of operating scales.
