Vacancy – Assistant Customer Services Manager
We are recruiting for an Assistant Customer Services Manager to work in our Customer Services Department.
This person should have sound working knowledge of IMDG and ADR regulations and be able to act as an advisor on these matters. A formal IATA qualification would be desirable.
You should have had at least 3 years working in an export shipping (manufacture) role with at least an additional 2 years of supervisory or management experience. You should be highly literate and numerate and be able to deal with periods of peak pressure. You should have a flexible approach to work, being able to move from routine work to one-off assignments easily.
You should have experience in dealing with the Home Office for dual use materials and ideally have the Known Consignor aviation security qualification. You must be an excellent communicator as you will be required to deal with global customers, freight & shipping lines and banks.
You must be able to be tactful, but determined, as part of your function will be to assist in credit control. As part of your daily work you will be also have to interface with our Production and Logistics departments. You may be required to assist in exhibition organisation, data research for Sales support and customer complaints. You therefore need to be well organised and have excellent IT skills.
As part of your routine duties you will be expected to be involved with customer liaison, contract review, despatch, invoicing, letters of credit and supplier declarations.
We would expect the ideal candidate to have a HNC/HND in Business Studies or similar and to have had some kind of formal management or supervisory training.
Salary for this position will be in the range £20-24k per annum dependant on experience.
