Day Plant Manager - Attached to one or several manufacturing plants within a Cell you will report to the Manufacturing Cell Manager of your Cell. Your role is to ensure the safe efficient running of manufacturing operations within your plant(s). You will directly manage 4 teams of operators spread across 4 shifts. You will manage all aspects of production within your plant(s) including material ordering, labour allocation, cleaning operations, quality and health & safety. You will work closely with colleagues in Engineering to effect plant change overs and maintenance requirements in the most time efficient manner possible. You will continuously review the processes under your control for improvements in terms of quality, yield and manual handling.
We need someone with drive and energy and a 'can do' attitude. This is a very hands on position working closely with your team and leading by example. Interpersonal skills are very important as communication and negotiation skills are critical to the success of this position as routine interaction with other functions such as Engineering, Sales, R&D and QC/QA is required. Degree educated (ideally in chemistry or Chemical Engineering), you should have several years experience of first line management in a fast paced manufacturing industry.
