Thioglycolates and thioacetates
RBL's thioglycolate salts - calcium, potassium and sodium thioglycolate - are all supplied on a multi-tonne scale for application in the global cosmetic market. The products are all used in depilatory formulations. In addition, RBL can manufacture ammonium thioglycolate as used in cold, permanent hair-waving formulations.
RBL's thioglycolate esters, such as methyl thioglycolate, are used to manufacture sulphur containing cyclic intermediates which themselves find use in various pharmaceutical and agrochemical products. For methyl thioglycolate, we are able to offer customers full guidance and advice on the appropriate handling and containment of this versatile but highly odorous material. Where our customers' own facilities are considered inappropriate for the use of methyl thioglycolate, RBL is able to offer a fully confidential custom manufacturing service to the required downstream intermediate.
RBL is also the world's largest supplier of potassium thioacetate, a specialised thiolating agent and pharmaceutical intermediate.
